The cover features my original hand-painted illustration of the Tarot card The Moon – XVIII: a black cat making its way through a mysterious nocturnal landscape beneath a large crescent moon, surrounded by clouds, stars and delicate golden ornaments.

The Moon is associated with intuition, the subconscious, perception and finding your way through uncertainty. A beautiful journal for anyone who loves Tarot, mystical art and unusual stationery – for writing, personal thoughts, journaling, creative ideas or as a special gift.

Black Hardcover Journal with Gold Foil

Fine details from the original Tarot illustration are finished in shimmering gold foil against the black hardcover. As the light changes, the frame, stars and lettering catch the light and reveal their golden shine.

The back cover features a gold-foiled Triple Moon symbol. Beyond representing phases of the moon, the symbol is associated with the three aspects of the Goddess – Maiden, Mother and Crone – and with the cycles of life, transformation and renewal.

There is another small detail on the spine: the Roman numeral XVIII is embossed in gold, representing the number of The Moon within the Major Arcana.

The Symbolism of The Moon

The black cat is the guide through the unknown nocturnal landscape. She represents intuition and instinct – the ability to keep moving even when the path ahead is not yet clear.

The clouds and mist obscure parts of the landscape and symbolise the unknown: everything we cannot yet see or fully understand.

Inside the large crescent moon appears a mysterious swirl of stars – something that cannot really exist. It represents illusion, uncertainty and the question of whether we can always trust what we see.

For me, The Moon is therefore about finding your way through uncertainty and trusting your own intuition before your mind can understand everything.
