This atmospheric art postcard features my hand-painted gouache artwork “Going Home” — a mystical fantasy scene set in an abandoned, overgrown Berlin.
A small girl holding a lantern guides a glowing forest spirit through the silent ruins of the city. In the background, you can recognize the Rathausbrücke near the Humboldt Forum and the Berlin Cathedral — though not as we know them today. Nature has begun reclaiming the city, while mysterious light fills the deserted streets.
The illustration combines fantasy, nature magic and a quiet sense of melancholy with the atmosphere of a post-apocalyptic world. Inspired by enchanted stories, forest spirits and atmospheric fantasy worlds, this artwork tells a story of hope, loneliness and finding the way home.
The original artwork was painted by hand using gouache and ink. The postcard was printed in Berlin on high-quality FSC-certified cardstock.
